Marketed as the Westwind 35 in Europe and Young Sun 35 in the US, the Young Sun yard in Taiwan produced these vessels starting in 1979. Over the years, the yard produced nearly 150 hulls. Young Sun often claimed, as in the advertisement below, that Robert Perry designed the boat. Perry has even said that at one point a representative from the yard offering to give him royalties if they could use his name in the advertising. However, Perry turned them down because he had not actually penned the lines. It seems the boat was a pirated and barely altered Baba 35, which was being produced about thirty miles north of Young Sun at Ta Shing. In fact, Ta Shing even rigged at least some of the Young Sun 35s.
